ABOUT ME
BINKS STALLARD
Next year, I’ll turn 40.
Forty!
When I was young, that sounded like a dirty word. Forty was old!!
Now, I don’t feel old—well, maybe some days… But generally, I feel good. I feel excited about what life has to offer.
And yet… I also feel busy. Stressed. Stuck on a wheel. And, overall, like life is passing by without some of the small enjoyments I used to have.
I want to change that.
As I started thinking about this milestone birthday, I kept coming back to the same questions:
How do I want to spend my last year in my 30s?
How do I reclaim the small enjoyments?
What even are the small enjoyments?!
This is what I came up with.
I have always enjoyed:
- Reading
- Traveling
- Writing
- History
I want to do all of that again.
And I don’t want to wait another 40 years to do it!
So—here we are.
I’m Binks Stallard, and I’m creating a blog that lets me marry all of the things I enjoy. I’m not having a midlife crisis—I’m getting midlife curious.
I hope you’ll come along and be curious with me!
One More Thing
I’m a psychologist, but this blog won’t be specifically about my work—that’s my day job!
That said, my training might occasionally leak into my posts, especially when I’m analyzing books. Consider it a little occupational hazard.
